Missouri History Museum
The Missouri History Museum is located on the northern edge of Forest Park. It was founded in 1866 by the Missouri Historical Society. Admission is free, but certain exhibits may require the purchase of a ticket. The museum focuses on key events that shaped St. Louis over the centeruies. It hosts two continuing exhibits: Seeking St. Louis and 1904 World's Fair, Looking Back and Looking Forward. The museum underwent a massive expansion in the 2000's, adding the Emerson Center and the Lee Auditorium with a seat theatre. The museum makes St. Louis history relevant to St. Louis natives and visitors.
