Carondelet YMCA Community Recreation Center
The Carondelet Family YMCA was organized in 1919 and untilized a facility that was built in 1925. This facility featured a gynasium, meeting rooms, lounge, swimming pool, locker rooms, and a small bowling alley. In 2009, The City of St. Louis Department of Parks Recreation and Forestry and the YMCA of Greater St. Louis opened a new Carondelet Rec Complex with updates that was greatly needed. The building is now operated under the YMCA of Greater St. Louis. This new facility has now become an important part of the community. The facility now has a full sized double gy,, a running/ walking track, a teen club with a climbing wall, child watch rooms, a free weight area and exercise machine area, and both an indoor and outdoor pool. The rec complex offers child care, camps, and a pre-school. The YMCA also hosts events and classes for members with healthy themes such as nutrition, exercise, and wellness.
