Carondelet Park and the YMCA put on a variety of free or almost free events for the public. One of the most popular events is the free concert series in the park during the summer season. The bands and artists cary, from 60's rock mock bands, to R&B, to funk, to Elvis impersonators. This events usually draws a big crowd from the community. The park also puts on regulr movie nights in the park that are free to the public. Community members can bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets to ejoy a family friendly movie in the park.  Another popular event hosted by the YMCA is Kids Night Out, which gives parents a rest and kids an exciting evening of games, crafts, and recreation.
