Step 1: 48 Hour Pre-License Course
There's either a classroom option or an online option. We recommend the online option. It helps prepare for the test and can be used as a resource until the exam is passed. With the classroom, once the class is out, there are books, but they don't usually help to focus the education on the test questions, but give a more broad underlying knowledge base. The problem is, having a broad underlying knowledge is good, but if you don't know how to answer the test question, its useless.
Step 1a: Practice Tests
Spending a little extra money for some practice tests is a good idea.
Step 2: Exam
Contact testing centers to find a testing location nearby. The tests are normally administered on computers (just like the online pre-license class).

Step 4: Finger Printing
All applicants for an original Missouri license are required to be fingerprinted for a Missouri and federal criminal history background check. Therefore, all new applicants must contact 3M/Cogent for fingerprinting prior to making application for licensure.
Step 5: Find Broker
In order to become licensed, a licensee must work for an existing broker. Arrangements must be made in advance with the broker and their signature must be on your application.
Step 6: Complete Application and Send to Missouri Real Estate Commission
All documentation proving all the requirements have been met must accompany your application along with fees. Read the application carefully to ensure that all questions are answered.
